The classic banana leaf is Vegetarian: Rice on banana leaf with three vegetable sides (pickled cucumber, spice-battered bitter gourd & a 'white cabbage mix thing') served with Dahl and Papadum. All of which, you are entitled to a FREE FLOW of for RM5, brilliant!

Note: All other side orders are charged separately on a S, M, L serving basis. Still, BRILLIANT!

I didn't grow up eating banana leaf so I don't think its nostalgic bias.Whether it is the yummilicious-ness orchestrated by the different flavors at work or the balance between hot and cold varieties on the plate; there is something so satisfying about this dish! Thumbs, thumbs up!

'MEAT it up' options

Fried Sotong (Calamari)
Be cautious with your add-ons. I would advice keeping to the 'small' portions and an order ratio of two sides per three person(s) despite an overwhelming urge to order stack loads! The smells and food-frenzy-chaos that fills this place seduced my little excitable heart and greedy tum-tum into ordering three sides to myself on my first visit!

Sweet agony! I had to hold on to my belly on the way out!

Soak your rice in fish / chicken curry or dahl sauces!

Wall Menu
There is no better way to order food at a frantic kopitiam than to 'Perve, Point & Pick'. Take a quick squeeze and whiff of your neighbour's eats, point and lock it in ("I want that and those... mmm. what the hell, all that too!").

"Grab that empty seat!"
Be forewarned that this gastro-venture is not for the short tempered or impatient. Less you get there in the late afternoon, lunch time nearly guarantees you a 20 minute wait.

Waiting, sweating & table sharing are all compulsory bits of this culinary experience that makes it all the more (subjectively) enjoyable and definitely memorable. I am personally driven time and time again to this kopitiam for nostalgic sentiments - the plastic orange plates, the ceramic tea cups, the sweaty chaos and (of course), the food.

The staple statement boot.

Christian Louboutin Futura Boots

I am salivating over this and imagining it with my favorite LBD or 'Melbourne All-Black' outfits. While the classic LBD titters on demure elegance, these boots will knock it off its lady-like toes and balance it out with roaring sexual confidence. As with the sea of All-Black assembles that flood the streets of Melbourne come winter, this would stick out in all the right ways. love!
